Lodge, Beach Hut and Social Event Booking Terms
Lodges and Beach Huts
We know how important a break can be. The information below will help you understand how bookings work and how we make sure these opportunities are available to as many carers as possible.
Making a Booking
Payment is due when you book.
If you cannot pay at the time of booking, we will hold your booking for 7 days. If we have not received payment within 7 days, we will cancel the booking and offer the dates to another carer.
Please remember to tell us if you have made payment online.
We do not send payment reminders.
Your booking is only confirmed once payment has been received.
Cancelling a Booking
If you can no longer use your booking, please let us know as soon as possible.
Our lodge and beach hut breaks are heavily subsidised and places are limited. Because of this, we are not able to give refunds once a booking has been confirmed.
Please only book if you are confident you will be able to attend.
If something serious happens
We understand that caring situations can change suddenly.
In exceptional circumstances, we may review a request for a refund, transfer or alternative booking. This is not something we offer routinely and any decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Changes to Bookings
You can ask to change your booking once, subject to availability.
Further changes will not normally be possible.
Assistance Dogs
We aren't able to allow animals to stay at the Lodge. The only exception is for Assistance Dogs that support a person's disability.
Because the Lodge is used by many carers, including some with severe animal allergies, we need to keep it animal-free for everyone's benefit. Unfortunately, this does not include emotional support animals.
Events
Our events are a chance for carers to take some time for themselves, meet others and try something new. The information below explains how bookings and places are managed fairly.
Booking an Event
Places at our events are often limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
If an event is full, we may offer you a place on a reserve list.
Payment is due when you book and we have contacted you to confirm your booking.
If you cannot pay at the time of booking, we will hold your booking for 7 days.
If we have not received payment within 7 days, we will cancel the booking and may offer the place to another carer.
If you can no longer attend
Please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend.
This allows us to offer your place to another carer.
Paid-for events
If you have paid for an event and can no longer attend, we are not able to give refunds.
Please only book if you are confident you will be able to attend.
If something serious and unexpected prevents you from attending, we may review your situation on an individual basis.
Reserve lists
When a place becomes available, we will always offer it to carers on the reserve list first.
Fair Access
We want as many carers as possible to benefit from our breaks, activities and events.
To help us do this fairly:
- Bookings must be paid for within the timescales given.
- Places that are cancelled may be offered to another carer.
- We may give priority to carers who have not recently accessed a similar opportunity
- We may take account of repeated late cancellations or places that were booked but not used.
These arrangements help us make the best use of the funding and opportunities available for carers
